Vol.49 European Graphic issue
This issue we take a look at the state of graphic design today in Europe after the changes it has undergone due to growth of digital media like the Internet, websites, and digital books. We cover 20 designers from the UK, France, Germany, and Holland, looking into the foundations of their esthetic sense and present a large selection of their incredible graphic artwork.
Kicking things off is a feature with design studio cyan, which was founded during the reunification of Germany in the early 1990s and has since become noted for its playfully avant-garde creations employing traditional techniques. This look back at the studio's endeavors since its inception, design vision, and secrets behind their distinctive work method is a must read. We also get back in touch with A2/SW/HK, who we last interviewed six years ago in Vol. 26, to ask them their course since then and present some of their latest works. This is then followed by introductions 18 graphic designers known for unique creations divided up by nationality along with selections of their diverse graphical artwork like typography, posters, editorial design, identities, and album jackets.
The cover features artwork by up-and-coming British designer Rishi Sodha.
