This issue highlights magazines that have brought revolutionary changes throughout history. At the forefront, we feature the Bauhaus Journal (first published in 1926), NIPPON by Nippon Kobo under the direction of Younosuke Natori, and the Swiss design gem Neue Grafik. From the 1980s, we introduce iconic culture magazines from London, such as The FACE and i-D. Moving into the 1990s, we spotlight distinctive publications that emerged across the globe: New York’s VISIONAIRE, California’s Ray Gun, Paris’ Purple, and Berlin’s Lodown—all of which remain influential media today. Additionally, the issue includes excerpts from magazines launched in the 2000s, previously featured in interviews by +81. This special edition offers a comprehensive look at 100 years of magazine evolution, tracing the journey from Bauhaus to the present day.
